Ana Pereira was born in Lanhelas (8th August 1985). She began her musical studies with a local Band. When she was 12 she went in Professional School in Viana do Castelo, in the José Fernandes Rosado violin class. Here she finished her basic course with the maxim classification. Ana began immediately to be distinguished in contests: at Prémio Jovens Músicos in 2002 she obtained the 3rd prize at Violin Medium Level and the 3rd prize at the Chamber Music Medium Level. She participated in the 1st contest of Tomás Borba Violin, being rewarded with the 2nd prize. She has been selected for the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra, she began studying with the teacher Aníbal Lima, graduated with the maxim classification in 2007. Still in 2007 she obtained the 2nd Prize at the Prémio Jovens Músicos/ Upper Level and a year later the 1st prize. In 2007 she won the Chamber Music/ Upper Level, as 1st violin of Artzen Quartet, group she found in ANSO. Recently, she won the Young Violinists Prize 2011.
During her formation Ana participated in masterclasses with such remarkable violinists, as Serguei Arantounian, Anotoli Swarzburg, Evélio Teles, Zofia Kuberska-Wóycicka, Gerardo Ribeiro, Eugene Gratovich, Irina Tseitlin, Mchael Tseitlin Carmelo de los Santos, Günter Seifert, Igor Oistrach. Thanks to her interpretations qualities she became the first violin at the Symphony Orchestra of the Professional Music School of Viana do Castelo, Metropolitan Academic Orchestra. Sinfonieta Orchestra of Lisbon and the Portuguese Opera Orchestra. She was also selected as first violin at the Young National Orchestra APROARTE 2002 and for the II Period of Training of the Metropolitan Academic Symphony Orchestra.
She played in several orchestras: Oporto Symphoniet, Lisbon Symphoniet, APROARTE, Symphony Orchestra of the Professional School Viana do Castelo, Metropolitan Lisbon Orchestra, Portuguese Opera Orchestra and Orchestra Utópica.
Ana played as soloist with the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Metropolitan Academic Orchestra, Sinfonieta Orchestra of Lisbon, Algarve Orchestra and Metropolitan Orchestra, in Portugal and abroad. She acts regularly as concertmaster of the Symphoniet Orchestra, Portuguese Opera Orchestra and Metropolitan Orchestra from Lisbon. She is founder member of the strings camerata Alama Mater and Artzen Quartet.
Since 2015 she is the concertmaster of Metropolitan Orchestra of Lisbon, having held the position of assistant concertmaster for 7 years (2008-2015). In 2009 she became part of the teaching staff of the Academia Nacional Superior de Orquestra da Metropolitana.
